Whetstone + Raintree Partnership: Upgrade Your Access
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between Whetstone Climbing and Raintree Athletic Club as well as Alive, by Raintree. We're two local businesses who decided our members deserve more ways to move, together.
Starting September 1, 2026, current Whetstone members can add access to the Raintree Athletic Club & Alive by Raintree. Raintree members can add access to Whetstone. Pricing details coming soon, stay tuned.
Whetstone is still Whetstone, world-class climbing, same team. Raintree is still Raintree, the best health club experience in the region. We're just opening more doors for our communities!
August "Open House Visits"
Starting the 1st of August, active Whetstone Members (Auto-Pay Monthly & Annual Prepaid) can go check out Raintree Athletic Club & Alive free of charge all month long.
How to set up your Whetstone Member free trial at Raintree Athletic Club / Alive:
1.Download the Raintree and/or ALIVE app to start your free trial.

2. Stop into either club to fill out our Release of Liability waiver
- When filling out the waiver, select “Whetstone Climbing Gym” under the section “How Did You Hear About Us?”
3. Once the waiver is filled out, you will be issued a barcode. The barcode will show up in the app under the “Check In” tab on the bottom and you’ll use that to check into the gym during your trial month in August.
All Raintree Athletic Club and Alive members members get three complimentary visits to Whetstone.
How to set up your Whetstone profile:
1. Fill out a waiver here
2. Head to our front desk to get checked in & acquainted with our facility.
3. Enjoy your visit! Feel free to ask our desk team anything too!
How Membership Upgrades work
1. Pick your tier
Bronze, Silver, or Gold, depending on which facilities you want. Alive only, RAC only, or both.
Bronze - Alive access only
Silver - RAC access only
Gold - Access to both facilities
2. See your new total
You're already paying your base membership rate. Just add the tier's upgrade cost, that's your new monthly total.
3. Upgrade via your home facility
Whetstone members upgrade only at Whetstone. Starting September 1, 2026.
4. Start training!
Your Whetstone access stays exactly the same. Your new facility access kicks in as soon as your upgrade goes through. More information on the way!
Child/Youth Policies for Raintree Athletic Club & Alive
Children under the age of 10 may use the basketball court, racquetball court, climbing wall, pool, and track when being directly supervised by a member over the age of 18
Once a child turns 10 years of age, they need to be added to the membership in order for him/her to use the or pay for a youth guest pass at the front desk on each visit
Children ages 10-14 can use all of the club facilities when directly supervised by a member over the age of 18
Children ages 12-14 can use all of the club facilities unsupervised with a parent on-premise if they have completed the Youth Responsibility Training Class (online)
Children ages 15-22 may use all club facilities without a parent
Children 22 years and under are allowed to be a family membership
F.A.Q.
- Do I have to upgrade?
- Nope. Your current Whetstone membership stays exactly as is if you don't add anything. This is entirely optional.
- What happens to my Whetstone membership if I upgrade?
- Nothing changes. Your climbing access, rate, and everything else about your Whetstone membership stays the same. You're only adding facilities on top of it.
- Are Whetstone and Raintree merging?
- No. Both businesses remain independently owned and operated. Whetstone is still Whetstone, world-class climbing, same team. Raintree is still Raintree, the best health club experience in the region. This partnership exists to give members more, not to change who runs either place.
- When can I actually upgrade?
- Membership upgrades go on sale September 1, 2026. You'll purchase your upgrade through your home facility, so Whetstone members upgrade at Whetstone not RAC / Alive.
- Is there a way to try it out first?
- Yes. During the open house in August, current active Whetstone members (Summer Pass,Auto-Pay Monthly & Annual Prepaid) get one month of complimentary visits to Raintree Athletic Club & Alive. Current Raintree / Alive members get three complimentary visits to Whetstone.
- Can I switch tiers later?
- Yes, more on that soon!
- What if I only want Alive, not RAC?
- That's Bronze. It gives you Alive access only, no RAC. If you want RAC only, that's Silver. Gold is the only tier with both.
- Do I need to sign anything or fill out paperwork at RAC or Alive?
- Yes, more on that soon!
- Can I freeze just the Upgrade?
- No, the upgrade and can only be active or terminated.
- Is there a punch-pass or day-pass rate for members who want to try RAC/Alive without committing to a monthly upgrade, outside of the August open house window?
- Not for this tier group of Whetstone users. You can upgrade to Auto-Pay Monthly or Annual Prepaid memberships to take advantage of the upgrade rates & the Open House trial month. Your Day-Pass or Punch-Pass is not valid for the august trial month or upgrade.
