Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do in the gym?

I’m Grissy, an adult instructor at Whetstone. I am originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic but I’ve been living in the US since I was in elementary school!

When not a Whetstone, where might we find you?

Probably in the lab at CSU, I’m currently a PhD student in the Health and Exercise Science Department.👩🏽‍🔬

A favorite non-climbing activity?

Hiking!

What are you most stoked about these days?

Exploring Colorado! Since I moved at the end of last summer, I've been trying to go and explore as much as I can this summer.

How did you get involved with the gym?

I became a member as soon as I moved out here last August, then started working as an instructor in May.

Best thing about FoCo / NoCo:

All the fun events there are in Fort Collins!

What’s a low-key flex you can boast about?

I personally think I have the coolest birthday of the year… February 29th… aka THE leap day.

Favorite spot to recreate in:

When not in Colorado, the Catskills in NY are pretty rad.

How does climbing foster community?

Climbing creates an easy environment to meet new people and create lasting relationships.
