Whetstone Climbing is seeking a patient and attentive Childcare guru to support with day-to-day operations of our childcare facility. This role is responsible for providing a fun and safe environment while parents climb, practice yoga, or workout. Whetstone’s principles of Gratitude, Dedication, Pride, and Innovation drive our business and community and are integral to our success.

Primary Duties + Responsibilities

+ Maintain a safe and supportive environment

+ Emphasize fun, safety, and education, to children

+ Organize and monitor children’s play activities from reading, art projects, and of course, climbing!

+ Keep day care room organized, clean, with age appropriate toys

+ Promote interaction between children through a variety of interactive games designed to promote cooperation

+ Maintain check-in logs

 

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Enjoy working with children, and climbing!

+ Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both parents and children

+ Have an understanding of early childhood learning

+ Exhibits strong active listening and social awareness

+ Ability to make sound judgements and possesses strong decision-making skills

+ Have passed or are able to pass a Whetstone belay safety check

+ First Aid, CPR & AED certification

+ Able to work mornings, evenings or weekends. (Childcare hours are M-F 8:30am-1:30pm; 3:30pm-7:30pm | S-S 9:30am-3:30pm)

Whetstone Climbing is seeking a passionate, engaging and knowledgeable individual to work with our Youth Climbing Team. This role is responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all aspects of the Whetstone Climbing Team including engaging with climbers and parents, supporting with practices and maintaining a safe and positive environment. Whetstone principles of Gratitude, Dedication, Pride, and Innovation drive our business and community and those principles are integral to our success.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Coach the designed curriculum and support Head Coach with all practices

+ Support with athlete management while maintaining a high level of focus and engagement

+ Work within team budgets

+ Daily/weekly communication with Head Coach

+ Attend monthly staff meetings

+ Work with Head Coach to strategize and develop recruiting programs and/or specials

 

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and maintain a high level of focus and engagement

+ 2+ years of climbing experience and 1+ year of climbing coaching experience

+ Ability to make sound judgements and possesses strong decision-making skills

+ Have passed or are able to pass a Whetstone belay safety check

+ CPR, First Aid Certified

+ Able to work mornings, evenings or weekends

+ Experience with Rock Gym Pro is a plus

This role is responsible for supporting all aspects of the Whetstone experience including engaging with members and guests, guiding purchase decisions and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment. PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Champion of Customer Service – welcoming members and guests, answering phone calls, guiding purchase decisions for potential members and guests

+ Manage POS system including cash handling and credit card processing

+ Risk Management including belay safety checks

+ Guide purchase decisions for potential members & guests

+ Support members and guests in the Retail space

+ Knowledge and understanding of Whetstone’s programming; Yoga, Fitness, Childcare, Adult Classes, dYouth Classes & Teams

 

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

+ Understanding of climbing gym operations

+ Exhibits strong active listening and social awareness

+ Ability to make sound judgements and possesses strong decision-making skills

+ Have passed or are able to pass a Whetstone belay safety check

+ Manage and oversee entire coaching staff and provide performance feedback to ensure goals expectations are being met

 

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and maintain a high level of focus and engagement

+ Proficiency in Excel, database management and familiarity with point of sales systems – specifically Rock Gym Pro

+ 5 years of climbing experience, 2 years of climbing coaching experience and previous management experience in climbing or other customer service-based industry

+ Ability to make sound judgements and possesses strong decision-making skills

+ Have passed or are able to pass a Whetstone belay safety check

+ CPR, First Aid Certified

+ Able to work mornings, evenings or weekends

+ Experience with Rock Gym Pro is a plus

This role is responsible for designing classes, guiding students and leading cohesive yoga sequences. PRIMARY DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Design and lead yoga classes according to schedule

+ Teach safe and effective exercises to a wide demographic

+ Maintain current yoga certifications

+ Complete all required staff training

 

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Enjoy teaching students yoga

+ Have the ability to communicate clearly and safely guide students through yoga practices

+ 200 hour yoga certification or 500 hour yoga certification

+ Exhibits strong active listening and social awareness

+ CPR, First Aid Certified

+ Able to work mornings, evenings or weekends.

+ Experience with Rock Gym Pro is a plus
