USAC Youth Bouldering Regional Championships

We're honored to have been selected to host the USA Climbing Region 42 Youth Bouldering Regional Championships.
Athletes from Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas and Northern Texas will battle it out here at Whetstone for a chance to compete at Nationals! Come cheer on Team Whetstone or better yet, sign up to volunteer! No experience is necessary and we'll hook you up with two free day passes for helping out.
Competition Details
Preparation Timeline & Details
- We are going to start stripping boulders on January 8th.
- As the competition boulders get set, they will remain off-limits to the public until the competition is over.
- All Whetstone members can enjoy a day of free climbing at Ascent Studio as we prepare. Just show your scan card at their front desk when you arrive.
- The competition will be open to the public and everyone is welcome to come watch the action.
- Coaches and immediate family members of athletes taking part in the Regional Championships will not be permitted in the facility as soon as setting begins.
- No information about the setting can be shared at any time with participants or any person associated with participants of the event.
- Per USAC regulations, the gym will be closed to the general public all day on Saturday, January 13th.
- As the competition host, Whetstone is not in control of the athlete sign ups, cancellations, or refund process. If needed, please email events@usaclimbing.com.
Competition Schedule
Session 1 - FYD, MYC, FYB, MYA, FJR
- 8:00 AM: Volunteer Check-In / ISO Opens
- 8:15 AM: Judges Meeting
- 9:00 AM: ISO Closes / Doors Open for Spectators
- 9:30 AM: Climbing Starts
- 11:30 AM: Climbing Ends (approx) / Awards to Follow
- Noon: Clear the Gym
Session 2 - MYD, FYC, MYB, FYA, MJR
- Noon: Volunteer Check-In / ISO Opens
- 12:15 PM: Judges Meeting
- 1:00 PM: ISO Closes / Doors Open for Spectators
- 1:30 PM: Climbing Starts
- 3:45 PM: Climbing Ends (approx) / Awards to Follow
